About Us: Introduction

Why do we choose to adorn ourselves with jewellery? In a cave at a small place called Blombos on the coast of South Africa anthropologists have found a series of small beads made from shells dating to around 70,000 BC, believed to be the earliest example of human culture. Why would our ancestors have invested time in making something that they did not need for everyday survival?

Like fashion, jewellery goes beyond our basic needs of warmth, food and shelter. We believe that from those early beginnings right through to the sophistication of our modern culture jewellery shows something to us and to others about our individuality.

When designing jewellery we always consider the effect it will have on the mood of the wearer. We believe that jewellery should be fun and exciting, expressing the personality of the wearer and raising their spirits.
